LOOKBOOK: Burberry SS22 runway

From Isamaya Ffrench’s bambi ears to subversive trenches and experimental abstract prints, Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2022 celebrated imagination, dreams and fantasy. Staged via an off-schedule digital presentation in a glitter-scape, the ‘Animal Instincts’ show was an ode to embracing one’s natural instincts and the infinite possibilities of creation. “I wanted to move through a series of immersive spaces, each of them unique and unexpected in their sound, texture and experience. It’s that idea of flicking between the endless realities and fantasies we have at our fingertips each day,” Riccardo Tisci said. As such, the iconic Burberry trench is reimagined like never before, deconstructed with a youthful energy to reveal new silhouettes that include a bottom-baring cut, leather trims, fluted sleeves and hooded shapes. Seductive cut-outs run rampant throughout sportswear, decorated minis and halter gowns with thigh-high splits, while a bodysuit in crystal net and tulle has never looked more of the moment. To top it all off, a new shoulder bag makes its debut; the Rhombi draws directly from the trench and features a structured shape that’s sculpted to the body. Click to see the collection now.
