On the figurative front…

Mood: Surf’s up

The surf theme was definitely on many a moodboard for SS18, which we suppose given the nature of the season is most certainly apt. Dorian Gray of Malibu 1992 associates his show with the key words “religion, surf, luxury, melancholy, goth, culture, and fitness”; Palm Angels’ Fracesco Ragazzi was thinking of “the surf riot in 1986 on Huntington Beach, with his take on LA surf culture coming through in palm prints, hooded parkas and his signature tracksuits; elsewhere, Alessandro Dell’Acqua printed pictures of waves and surfboards onto white poplin shirts, long-sleeved tops and board shorts at N° 21.

Made to combat Monday blues

Then, there were looks that will fit handsomely in your workwear wardrobe and help offset your Monday blues. Looks to cop include a trio of suits in green, dusty pink and teal-grey from Prada, jackets and coats in relaxed silhouettes from Salvatore Ferragamo, Giorgio Armani‘s textured and tailored suits, and Marni‘s propositions for the hip, laidback executive. Speaking of laidback, Fendi exuded a similar vibe in what was perhaps one of the best shows of the week, striking a wonderful balance between corporate and casual in a collection where sportswear meets office staples.
