Tom Ford

Who: Designer Tom Ford took his bow looking suave as usual, but the most talked about of the night, is the star-studded—some may say eclectic—front row. Seated beside Anna Wintour, are Tom Hank and his wife, Rita Wilson, and on her left? Man of the hour, Henry Golding, and Cardi B. On the runway, Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls and Kaia Gerber kicked off the fashion month with their first runway show.
Where: The Park Avenue Armory was transformed into a sleek and elegant show set for the Tom Ford SS19 show.
The Low-down: Tom Ford sticks to what he does best this Spring 2019, with a collection that oozes seductive glamour like no other. But this round, the designer is diverting his attention to “beautiful wearable clothes”, as stated in the press release. A juxtaposition of details was spotted in abundance in the looks; leather with lace, architectural cuts with soft silk, and body-hugging bustier with fringe that sways with your every walk, pulled together by the streamlined silhouettes and the subdued colour palette. To keep the overall vibe extra chic, models wore headscarves and let their (strong) eyes do the talking. There were some men’s looks in the mix too. Tom Ford’s signature tailored pantsuits were given a metallic treatment, complemented with scarves and aviators for that slight retro feel.
Buro Loves: Gigi Hadid closed the show in a V-neck gown cinched in the waist with a leather bustier, letting the billowy cape flow oh-so-beautifully when she reached the end of the runway.
Pamella Roland

Who: The dresses were made for everyone’s inner princess, regardless of their style.
Where: The brand’s Spring 2019 collection was inspired by a place closer to us—in Bali, to be exact. The serenity, views and architecture were the main sources of creativity.
The Lowdown: If we had to describe the perfect wardrobe in a modern fairytale, this would be it. From embroideries to embellishment, and beads to feathers, the collection started out in shades of yellow, before moving on to calming blue hues and hot pinks. The evening gowns may be what Pamella Roland is known for, but this season, the short frocks were the ones that got our hearts. There were a variety of designs to cater to different tastes, such as a chic A-line floral number, a fun and flirty feather dress, and a show-stopping ruffled piece. Pantsuits were also tailored to perfection, including a deep V-neck jumpsuit and cropped blazer covered in glitter.
Buro Loves: The cascading chiffon gown with embellishment, floral appliqués and feather details.
Jeremy Scott

Who: Jeremy Scott’s muse this season? Himself-when he was a teenager, in particular.
The Lowdown: You can always expect a quirky collection from Jeremy Scott each season, and this time it’s no different. With a collection filled with almost everything you can think of—studs, denim, mesh, PVC, and plaids, you name it—the designer took inspiration from his teenage years where he experimented with style and clothes. There were ensembles that were plastered with words such as “peace”, “riot”, “hyper” and “shock”—most likely his teenage sentiments; sport-inspired pieces inspired by motocross, grunge plaid and neon looks that, coincidentally, are back in trend, and more. Rapper (and Cardi B’s beau) Offset also made an appearance on the runway, dressed in a wait for it—hot pink Pikachu sweater.
Buro Loves: The polaroids of Jeremy Scott in the ’90s that were made into prints, plastered all over hoodies, dresses and skirts.
