Like a burst of citrus, Prabal Gurung’s runway was ripe with the cheeriest hues, ranging from bright daffodil and marigold to a deep burnt orange sheath dress that resembled molten evening sunshine on the body.
The collection was an ode to the Nepali designer’s beloved home country. Since the devastating earthquake in April this year, the designer has worked tirelessly to raise funds in aid of his country. Gurung called it a “personal gesture of gratitude” and the collection was a conveyance of his emotions: at once moving, poignant and hopeful.
Gurung worked with Steven Sebring, who used 360-degree photography technology to capture every angle on the runway. The moving images are to be used in a digital lookbook.
