#WednesdayWishlist: The Idea of power
Unleashing our inner strength
Loh Wei Yeen, Fashion & Beauty Writer: Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Misteriosa
To me, a spritz of scented goodness is akin to putting on a power suit on days when I feel empowered and ready to take on the world. Salvatore Ferragamo's Signorina Misteriosa embodies what I think a woman should be: confident and unpredictable, with a dash of mysterious. Its olfactory notes of wild blackberry, neroli, and orange blossom make for an indulgent scent that's sensual to boot with hints of tuberose, black vanilla mousse and patchouli. And how extraordinary is that mysterious black packaging that comes with the house's signature Vara grosgrain bow as well?
Rachel Au, Lifestyle Writer: A Balmain blazer
Or blazers in general. I've come to find them endearing for all my formal occasions and I'd have to admit, the thought of going with a pantsuit over a dress started after seeing Angelina Jolie rock one on the red carpet. But even if you don't go with the full-on pantsuit look, just putting on a blazer over any top and pants would do the trick. Dresses are pretty but a pantsuit feels more powerful (and comfortable), and it's probably because of how structured and streamlined it is. The key item that determines it is the blazer and while I usually opt for a classic black, I find the idea of going all white is usually a daring choice made by confident women and that's what I'll aim for one day (without worrying I'll spill something on it).
Tan Su Fen, Editorial Assistant: Dioressence Pumps in black patent calfskin
Although my choice for everyday wear will always gravitate towards flats, there is no denying the power of confidence (and the illusion of elongated legs) that comes with slipping on a pair of heels. For days where I seek that extra boost of empowerment, I would love to take the reins with these timeless Dioressence pumps. Classic yet decidedly modern with its sleek, elegant aesthetic, they are definitely wishlist-worthy essentials that will go perfectly well with a power suit—bring it on, world.
