Grammys 2019: The best (and the worst) dressed stars of the night

There’s never a shortage of drama at the Grammys, and this year, it’s no different. Prior to the show last night, Twitter was set abuzz when Ariana Grande called out Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich for lying about her reason for not performing this year. Aside from that, Childish Gambino, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar—who were all nominated for a number of awards also declined to perform during the event, although Drake was present to accept his award for Best Rap Song. But that’s not it. There was drama on the red carpet too, although this time, it’s for good reasons. It’s only apt for the stars of the night to make their appearances for music’s biggest event in the most eye-catching looks, and here are some of our favourites.

Nominated (and won) the awards for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (alongside Bradley Cooper) and Best Pop Solo Performance, Lady Gaga—who has been on a roll lately—turned up in a head-to-toe silver look from Celine that’s streamlined and chic, so did Dua Lipa who snagged the Best New Artist prize. Miley Cyrus kept things fail-proof this year with her Mugler pantsuit, and the tailored ensembles will always be an A+ in our books. On the other side of the spectrum, while their effort to stand out is appreciated, there were also some looks that fell short. The pink shade seemed to be a popular pick this year—as seen on Katy Perry, Cardi B, and Kylie Jenner, but the exaggerated silhouettes didn’t flatter their hourglass figure at all.
