The brand’s signature tailoring was the mainstay of this season’s collection

Pantsuits have always been synonymous with workwear, but in recent years, it has seen a hot resurgence on the streets, as fashionistas are opting to wear the two-piece on their days off. There's just something about its sleek and tailored factor that makes it an oh-so-chic ensemble. For Autumn/Winter 2018, Emporio Armani introduced an array of sartorial looks for both men and women, inspired by new elegance with an emphasis on individuality. In the show notes, Giorgio Armani said, "I enjoy watching people, bringing into my world the spirit of what I see around me, processing and reinventing it. Today everything gets mixed up, rules have been turned upside down. That's the freedom I wanted to capture in this collection."

Compared to the previous season, the colour palette this AW18 is definitely much darker, although you can still find pops of turquoise and blue in the womenswear collection. We love the assortment of tailored offerings; there were skirt suits in geometric prints, and oversized blazers with exaggerated lapels, giving the classics that amp-up. The suave looks were paired with accessories such as embellished berets and cowboy boots, giving the suave looks that bit of trendy contrast. Menswear-wise, you can find different materials in the mix—jackets were introduced in wool, sheepskin and goatskin, to name a few, and some, in nylon for a hint of sporty vibe. The textures definitely gave the mostly all-black get-ups that added interest. Our favourite, is definitely the head-to-toe velvet look that gave the oh-so-masculine outfit that bit of sexy flair—we can totally see Eddie Redmayne or Timothée Chalemet wearing them for the upcoming award season.
