Of unicorn balloons and retail therapy: Club 21 x Buro 24/7 Mother's Day celebration
Mum's the word
What's better than spending time with loved ones on a Friday afternoon creating the prettiest terrariums with sweet treats in tow? If you're thinking along the lines of retail therapy—there's no better feeling than to splurge on new-season merch, really—it's safe to say that you've caught on to the same direction we're heading to.
Last Friday was exactly that, and more. An exclusive Mother's Day get-together was underway that afternoon, in collaboration with Club 21 Malaysia at their multilabel store in Pavilion. Our esteemed guests and Friends of Buro showed up hand-in-hand with their family members, including Datin Dian Lee with her son Jaan, Tengku Chanela Jamidah Ibrahim with her son Bryan, Elizabeth Lee Yong with her mum Dame Betty Lee and daughter Blake Azalee, Jenn Low with her daughter Olivia, and Danielle Graham with her daughter Sophia.
Among the mummy-and-me activities on the itinerary include creating their own terrariums (both edible and inedible), balloon decorating, choosing their favourite tea blends, and not forgetting, a roam around the store to check out the latest from Club 21's range of labels. New brands that are available in Club 21's multilabel store now include Jacquemus, Molly Goddard, Noir by Kei Ninomiya, and Les Petits Joueurs—just in time for Mother's Day gift shopping.
No event is replete without a breathtaking photobooth, and on that day, there were more than one photo-worthy spots to choose from. From a spring-appropriate wooden trellis backdrop with white blooms to a rustic wooden swing teeming with foliage, picture-perfect spots were aplenty in-store. Guests also indulged in a decadent spread of sweet treats, from cupcakes to cake pops (Blake Azalee's favourite snack that day) in every shade of pastel pink and yellow that you can think of. The afternoon's bonding session came to a denouement a few hours later, as guests took home their works of art, including Buttercake Factory's cakes in a jar for the kids, and shopping bags filled with new Club 21 multilabel picks for mummies.
