Take on candied jewel tones the Anya Hindmarch way

More specifically, all the arm candy we saw on the Anya Hindmarch SS17 runway. The collection, titled ‘Circulus’, stemmed from the humble yet powerful shape that is the circle—paired with Hindmarch’s architectural design sensibilities, and it evolves into a covetable combination of geometry and art.

“This season I’ve been preoccupied by the relationship between geometry and art,” says Anya Hindmarch of her SS17 collection. “These two visual mediums are both articulated through pattern, form and colour—things that have always fascinated me. Starting with the ‘simple’ circle—perhaps the most intriguing geometric shape—I’ve mixed naïve craft techniques and cutting edge technology to create complex shapes. I like to think of this as the leatherwork equivalent of a mathematical equation.”

Doused in candied jewel tones, the SS17 creations demonstrate Anya Hindmarch’s innovative craftsmanship through intricate leather detailing—the geometric designs featured in the collection are created without any stitching. A new style that is introduced this season is the Stack, a soft, compartmentalised bag in gradient colours with a geometric strap made from individually interlocking leather circles. While the Crossbody and Wrislet sizes are handy, our favourite is the Circle Six Zip Stack, which really brings out the beautiful ombré design.

A new addition also joins the Vere family this season—a classic day bag called the Barrel. The clean shape makes it the perfect canvas for intricate and statement leatherwork, as well as iridescent metallic finishes.

The Anya Hindmarch SS17 collection is now available in Anya Hindmarch Pavilion KL (T: 03 – 2142 0989). To see more from the collection, visit the website.
