The ultimate wedding shoe guide for the bridal party

There’s a long list of things to prepare before a wedding, but thankfully, that’s where the bridal party comes in. Comprising the soon-to-be husband and wife’s closest friends and family members, they often help with pre-wedding events and dinners, participate in the bridal shower, and kick-start the wedding day.

If you’re a member of a bridal party, your role is to make sure that the event is well-celebrated and stunning photos are taken to capture the beauty of the once-in-a-lifetime moment. It’s important to dress well as a sign of respect to the main characters of the day. Shoes are one of the most important finishing touches to an outfit, and the search for the perfect pair can even be as tedious and complicated as finding a dress for the event. Whether you prefer closed- or open-toe heels, simple or ones with major sparkles and bling, there are still a lot of elements—such as comfort and the wedding venue—that you should keep in mind.

Just started your quest for the perfect wedding heels? Here’s a list of things that you should consider when picking this important piece of footwear.

1. Personal style

When it comes to the dress or shoes, it’s important to reflect your style, preference, and personality (without outshining the bride). If you’re going for a vintage vibe, everything has to be simple, chic, and clean. Find something that’s made out of lace or satin that complements instead of taking the attention away from your dress. If you’re all about glitz and glam, you can go for heels with embellishments that best represent your aesthetic.

2. Venue

While style and design are super important, there has to be some consideration for practicality. If you’re attending an outdoor event, try not to go for footwear with thin heels. If you don’t wear heels that often, be sure to familiarise yourself with walking in heels with a similar height and heel shape so that you’ll feel more comfortable on D-day.

3. Stick to physical shopping (if possible)

While you can find everything and anything through the comfort of your phone, try not to take the risk of online shopping when picking your wedding shoes. They can look quite different depending on one’s foot shape, and something that looks good on the model online might not be the same for you.

4. Start early

Make sure that you start your search as early as possible (for both your dress and heels). You might need more time to shop around for more styles, brands, and heights until you find the one that’ll look the best with your dress. A list of fantastic options might pop out during your search that’ll make you ponder before making your final decision. Make sure to leave some spare time to handle everything just in case any unpredicted emergency comes your way.

With that being said, scroll down to see a handy list of brands that’ll help you in your search for the perfect pair of heels for the special day.
