The best of NYFW SS19 day 1: Tom Ford's corset belt

It's a cinch

The wide belt meets its match with the corset

Thick, chunky belts don't usually equate to figure-flattering silhouettes but trust the master of sensuality to reinvent that. Tom Ford produced an oversized waist cincher with boudoir appeal through a corset-like belt with a zipper back. Like the original, the new accessory attempts to produce an hourglass shape by accentuating the slimmest part of a woman's body. Against the flowy lightweight fabrics, the corset hugs the waist as an anchoring statement, no additional accessories needed. The choice of materials and print further drived the idea behind the collection that oozed sex appeal: leopard print and leather. The latter being embossed croc and the former having a re-moment on the internet, and it takes a certain level of confidence to wear both. Skip the Spanx, here's a waist trainer worth getting your hands on.
