A guide to the A-listers' favourite bags this SS19
Women's obsession with bags knows no bounds (the Buro team understands first-hand), so it's to no surprise that celebrities are the same. Want to know what are some of the It-bags this season? All you need to do is take a look at what the fashion and Hollywood A-listers are carrying—they're often a great indication of what you should be adding to your shopping cart next. From what we can tell so far, the new classics such as the Dior Book tote and Louis Vuitton's Petite Malle clutch remain a crowd favourite, but we're spotting a variety of new designs in the mix.
Check out what these stars are toting on and off-duty:
Adriana Lima's Roger Vivier Boite du Noit clutch
For a night out at The Daily Front Row Fashion Awards, Adriana Lima made an appearance in a full velvet ensemble, complemented with a Boite de Nuit star clutch in matching texture that made her a standout in a sea of satin and chiffon dresses. The touch of sparkle from the clasp and star details tuned up the glam of her overall look.
Anna Ewers' Bottega Veneta Maxi Cabat
Aside from The Pouch, creative director Daniel Lee also introduced the Maxi Cabat—a woven tote made from 20 four-centimeter wide nappa leather strips that take two full working days to make. Here, German model Anna Ewers' opted for the roomy piece to give her off-duty look an added interest.
Dua Lipa's Versace quilted Icon bag
What bag does one go for when you already have four striking hues in one outfit? Dua Lipa pulled her colourful airport look together with a surprisingly classic arm candy in the form of the Versace Icon bag with gold hardware details. The name is derived from the double Medusa medallion lock closure at the front.
Zhang Jingchu's Alexander McQueen Jewelled Satchel
The jewelled satchel has been one of Alexander McQueen's signature bag designs for a while now, Here, Chinese actress Zhang Jingchu elevates her pared-down monochrome ensemble with a crocodile leather bag that comes with a ring that's encrusted with jet-black Swarovski crystals.
Charlize Theron's Louis Vuitton Petite Malle
At the premiere of her latest movie, Long Shot, Charlize Theron donned a full look from Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2019 collection, complete with the Petite-Malle in Epi Leather that remains a classic favourite.
Zumi Rosow's Gucci Zumi bag
Did you know Gucci's latest It-bag is named after Alessandro Michele's new muse—musician and jewellery designer, Zumi Rosow? Unlike the other carriers which are statement pieces on its own, this structured boxy design is great for both work and play. Its focal point is the hardware merging the brand's classic horsebit with interlocking Gs.
Queen Letizia of Spain's CH Carolina Herrera Metropolitan Insignia clutch
Queen Letizia of Spain attended a State dinner in Buenos Aires in an intricate fit-and-flare dress, and to complement the metallic embroidery, she finished off her look with the Metropolitan Insignia clutch from CH Carolina Herrera, inspired by the fashion house's 35th-anniversary bracelet and the architecture of the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.
Ami and Ayu Suzuki's Dior Book totes
Aside from the Saddle bags, Dior's Book totes have also made their way to It-status. The leather material is definitely an edgier alternative compared to canvas, but as seen here on Ami and Ayu, you'd be surprised at how well it goes with any look.
Salma Hayek's Bottega Veneta The Pouch
Another new design of Daniel Lee's, The Pouch is anything but your everyday plain clutch, for sure. Firstly, the oversized piece strikes the right balance between slouchy and structured, thanks to the soft folds of luxe leather that envelopes the rigid frame. Salma Hayek is seen here with one in intrecciato weave.
Joey King's Roger Vivier cigarette case
The actress, who is rocking a short crop for her movie, The Act, was spotted carrying a cute cigarette case from Roger Vivier. The lips motif on the bag adds that hint of girly flair to the overall get-up.
