18 Local and international celebrities to follow on TikTok right now

From K-pop stars to our very own local celebrities, here are 18 of entertainment's biggest names that you didn't know were on TikTok

Just a year ago, TikTok took the world by storm and became a cultural phenomenon that defined contemporary youth culture. The video-sharing app—previously known as Musical.ly—is a diverse hub of content filled with dance challenges, hilarious memes, cute pet videos and other cringey entertaining content. Various viral trends such as the Kombucha Girl meme and The Woah dance also originated from the app.

No matter what your perceptions are on TikTok, there's no doubt that the video-sharing social media platform is now the hottest social media app out there—some say that it may even be the new Instagram. The app now boasts more than 1.5 billion downloads and even some of the biggest names in the world are now on board the TikTok hype-train—here are 18 of them.

 

Korean artists

Many K-artists are now using TikTok as another way to engage with their fans—among them are BTS, MAMAMOO and Park Bom (from fomer girl group 2NE1).

 

Movie stars

Hollywood's favourite A-listers—The Rock, Terry Crews and Will Smith, as well as Malaysia's very own Zizan Razak has also joined in the TikTok craze. They mainly use the app to show us a glimpse of their personal lives and behind-the-scenes of their projects.

 

Bollywood queens

TikTok has a solid presence in India, even the Queens of Bollywood—Madhuri Dexit, Kajol Devgan and Aishwarya Devan—enjoy using the platform to keep the world posted on their everyday lives.

 

Comedians

Besides making us laugh in movies or on stage, these entertainers are now bringing laughter to TikTok. Make sure to follow Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Kim Hwe Kyung and Chinepaiyen Blake Yap on the app for an instant mood booster.

Fun fact: Blake is the first Malaysian to amass a million followers on TikTok!

Some of the most recognisable names in the music industry are also on TikTok, including Mariah CareyCamila Cabello, Justin Bieber and also local musician Faizal Tahir. From pop music to snazzy anthems, they are also responsible for some of TikTok's biggest trends such as the Obsessed and Yummy dance challenge.
