The best Swiftie reactions to ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

The Taylor Swift fever isn’t dying out anytime soon. After winning Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights at the Grammys and going on a sold-out world tour to celebrate her past musical eras, the pop titan returns with her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. Naturally, Swifties are reacting as calmly as you think and have started to dissect every line and metaphor in the 16-track album.

As if things couldn’t get crazier in Taylor Nation, the singer-songwriter surprised her fans two hours after its release to reveal that The Tortured Poets Department is actually a secret double album. “I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second instalment of TTPD,” she wrote on Instagram. With an extra 15 songs, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology has a total of 31 new songs, clocking in at two hours and two minutes long.

From allusions to her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn that ended in April 2023, hints at Travis Kelce and surprisingly frequent references to her brief flame with The 1975’s Matty Healy to her most intricately constructed lyrics yet, here are the best fan reactions to how Swifties are processing The Tortured Poets Department.
