You’ve got to admit: women in rock music seem to have that extra appeal, not just because they appear rather badass in a genre that is often dominated by men. I find that many female rockers don’t need to be overtly sexual or revealing to produce amazing music or live performances. Perhaps this is why these women truly personify the meaning of “girl power,” over their more revealing pop music counterparts.
We were particularly inspired by Blondie this week, whose frontwoman Debbie Harry led the way into punk rock of the late 1970s. But since each era has its own share of talented female rockers, we decided to diversify this playlist:
