Concert SZN is back in full swing! In 2022, Malaysians rocked out to a plethora of live concerts and shows by their favourite local and international artists. Thankfully, 2023 is going to be no different as huge acts such as K-pop megastars Blackpink, hitmakers OneRepublic and Joji are confirmed to show up on our shores, with more still to come.
Ahead, here are the confirmed live concerts happening in Malaysia in 2023.
Jay Chou: Carnival World Tour
When: 15 January 2023
Where: National Stadium Bukit Jalil
Price: Tickets start from RM288
Catch Jay Chou, the famous Mando-pop singer-songwriter and performer in action at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil. If the name of his world tour is anything to go by, concertgoers will be in for a night of spectacles, high-production effects, and of course, good tunes. The Carvinal world tour was originally scheduled for 7 January but has since been rescheduled to 15 January 2023, so do take note of this change.

Ne-Yo: Live in Malaysia

If you’re a fan of Ne-Yo’s groovy riffs and sleek dance moves, the singer will be having a concert of his greatest hits and songs from his latest album, Self Explanatory, brought down to Kuala Lumpur by digital partner Mola TV. Unfortunately, tickets are currently sold out, but you can bookmark the website in case any tickets free up!

Peakstorm Festival: Joji Live in KL

Yes, you read that right—Joji is coming back to our shores! He will be the official headliner for Peakstorm Festival 2023, one of Malaysia’s most highly anticipated music festivals. Previously held at the Sepang International Circuit, Peakstorm will be taking over Sunway Lagoon next year. Accompanying Joji are local music stars Airliftz, Midnight Fusic, and more to be announced. Early bird tickets have already been sold out so be sure to cop a seat before it’s all gone!

Westlife: The Wild Dreams Tour

Iconic Irish vocal group, Westlife, is set to croon their biggest hits on the Malaysian stage as early as February next year. The quartet is one of the UK’s most successful and prolific musical acts, with 14 number-one singles and over 25 million combined album sales in the UK alone. Their latest album of the same title, Wild Dreams, was released in 2021. Fans can expect the band to perform their newest songs along with other iconic tunes such as Uptown Girl and Flying Without Wings.

OneRepublic: Live in Concert

March will be a busy month for music lovers as the popular American band, OneRepublic, will be performing in KL for one night only. The tour will not focus on a specific album so fans can expect to rock out to classic hits such as Stop and Stare, Apologise, Secrets, and newer tunes such as the megahit I Ain’t Worried, featured in Top Gun: Maverick!

Blackpink: Born Pink World Tour

Blinks will get to jam out to Blackpink’s latest singles off of their Born Pink album together with the members IRL as the quartet will be coming to Malaysia in March. YG Entertainment has also stated that Blackpink’s world tour will be the biggest of any K-pop girl group yet, so Malaysian blinks will be in for a treat come March 2023.

Simple Plan: Harder Than It Looks Tour

Another iconic boy band will be making their way to our shores in March! The punk rock group hailing from Canada was formed in 1999 and still has fans jamming to old-school hits such as Perfect and Welcome To My Life even now. Promoting their latest album, Harder Than It Looks, Simple Plan will be bringing their rock riffs to Malaysian fans on 8 March during the Southeast Asian leg of their tour.

Treasure: Hello Tour

The 10-member boy group hailing from South Korea will be embarking on their first Asia tour and fortunately, Malaysia is one of the stops! With hits such as Jikjin and Darari, Treasure has been steadily on the rise and is currently promoting their latest mini album, Hello. As per YG style (record labelmates include the likes of Big Bang and BlackPink), the group is known for their powerful and energetic performances.

Saosin Asia Tour 2023

In celebration of their 10th anniversary, popular American rock band Saosin is embarking on a world tour to perform all their greatest hits across their released albums—and Malaysia will be kickstarting the Asia tour, no less! The founding vocal frontman Anthony Green left the group for personal reasons in 2003 but returned in 2016, much to fans’ pleasure. The group was on a three-year hiatus but released their third studio album Along the Shadow in the same year with hits such as The Silver String and Racing Toward A Red Light. Safe to say, Saosin is back better than ever and Malaysian fans can rock out to their songs very soon!

Sting: My Songs Tour

Legendary singer Sting, who was the former frontman of the New Wave rock band, The Police, will be showcasing the latest songs from his 14th studio album, The Bridge, for Malaysian rock fans. The artist released the album in celebration of his 70th birthday and with the new singles also come reworks of some of his most iconic songs such as Desert Rose and Every Breath You Take. His son, Jon Sumner, will also be touring with him so fans can anticipate a music synergy like no other on stage.
