How To Fake Bleached Brows—Beauty’s Most Polarising Trend
Fake it 'til you make it!

Want to hop on the bleached brow trend but are too chicken to commit? We share our tried-and-tested methods for faking the look below.
If recent browless beats on superstars Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Jenna Ortega are any indication, bleached brows have officially made it out of the alt-beauty sphere and into the mainstream. Once considered unconventional and unwearable, bleached brows are now considered a high-fashion statement both on and off the runway.

That said, this trend is more than just an edgy fad or statement. For some, it’s a practical choice. Not only do bleached brows give you a lot more wiggle room to play with your makeup, but they can also completely transform your look and vibe. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to you…
Either way, it’s worth giving the trend a try at least once in your life. Speaking from experience, this writer can confirm that sometimes the feminine urge to bleach your brows is necessary. You only really know whether you like the look of bleached brows on yourself once your arches are well and truly gone. Unfortunately, once the damage is done (literally and figuratively), you’re kind of stuck with the look until it either grows out or you tint them back. After all, you’ve, you know, bleached your brows. The hesitation to follow through is understandable, but what if we told you that you could skip the bleach and still rock the trend?

Yep, as it turns out, bleach is completely optional in the whole browless pursuit. All you need are a few makeup musts (and potentially some stationary) and you too can have your brows begone. No bleach necessary!
Ahead, we’ve put together three ways to fake bleached brows, complete with tutorials. Happy “bleaching”!
METHOD 1: BLEACHED BROW GEL
For lazy girls with sparse or light brows, you’re in luck. All you need is a brow gel and a heavy hand to fake bleached brows.
What you’ll need:
Steps:
- Brush your blonde brow gel through your brows, going against the grain.
- Then, brush through your brows going with the grain until you’ve achieved your desired shape.
- Repeat this process until your brows are fully saturated with colour and blonded.
Method 2: Concealer bleached brows

If your brow hairs are too dark to get the bleached look with just brow gel, this method is for you. It gives the most natural-looking result and is really easy to achieve.
What you’ll need:
Brow gel (optional)
High-coverage concealer in your shade
High-coverage concealer in a slightly darker shade
Disposable spoolie
Setting spray
Steps:
- Set the shape of your brow with a clear or light brow gel.
- Push the lighter concealer into your brow, making sure to saturate the area.
- Blend and clean up the edges.
- Use a spoolie to apply the slightly darker concealer to your brow hairs (this brings back texture and makes it look more “natural”).
- Finish up with a generous dose of setting spray to make the look last.
Method 3: Drag-Inspired Blocked Brows

If you’re looking to get rid of your brows so that you can experiment with different brow shapes or avant-garde styles, this is the best option for you. Drag queens have been using this method for decades, and for good reason! This method leaves your brows virtually undetectable, so you can experiment to your heart’s content. It is a little more labour-intensive than the other two options, but the results are worth the effort.
What you’ll need:
Glue stick
Disposable spoolie
Peach-tinted concealer
High-coverage concealer
Pressed powder
Powder puff
Steps:
- Run a glue stick through your brow hairs, going against the grain.
- Use a disposable spoolie to flatten your brows as best you can.
- Let it dry.
- Add another layer of glue over your brushed brow.
- Let it dry, and repeat until the area feels completely smooth and you cannot feel any brow hairs.
- Follow up by applying a peach-tinted concealer over your brows to cancel out dark tones and blend with a beauty sponge. Tip: Be careful not to lift or disturb the hairs
- Follow up with your usual concealer and blend again. Repeat until your brows are fully covered.
- Set the concealer with pressed powder and a puff in a press-and-roll motion.
