Blending brushes—large, medium, small, and xs
depends on size of eye—if you have a lot of lid space, you’ll want ot go bigger. if your eyes are hooded or you have less space, opt for something smaller!
The bigges brush is for buffing and softening, the medium brush is for transition shades and the smaller brushes are for packing on shadow and for detailed application i.e. in the crease
at the bare minimum, the biggest, fluffy blending brushes are the absolute necessities, but it is worth investing in the smaller ones if you need
flat eyeshadow brush is great for packing (with having even if you tend to use your fingers), and a more domed, small eyeshadow
if you’re doing lots of graphic eyes or artistic looks, try opting for smalller, finer, brushes
