9 Celebrity makeup looks we’ll be wearing this holiday season

The holiday season dictates that your makeup look should never be categorised under the likes of monotonous or—worse—lacklustre. A party-ready festive look to complement your #ootd ought to be nothing less than Insta-worthy, and before you stick to the usual glitter-drenched visage you always go for, scroll down for some major inspiration you can pull off.

From violet-tinged smokey eyes to glossy noir lips, these celebrity makeup inspiration is the guide you never knew you needed:

Oil-slick but make it holographic

Can’t make up your mind on one eye makeup trend to wear? Take a leaf out of Gigi Hadid’s #lewk and wear all of them. This is by far our favourite eye makeup look for its dimension and stunning colour combination.

Bordeaux beauty

Wear shades of violet and wine with pizzazz a la Naomi Scott here, who is looking like a vision in a sultry smokey eye. Full run-down of the look here on makeup artist Valeria Ferreira’s Instagram post.

A to-die-for smokey eye

Let your peepers do all the talking with a teal-gold smokey eye, as seen on Hailey Bieber. Keep your lashes voluminous and brows feathery for maximum brownie points.

Hot pink lips for days

We stan for pink when it looks this good. From the wash of pink on Candice Swanepoel’s cheeks to her traffic-stopping lip shade, all you really need is a delicate cat-eye to bring this look together.

Makeup artist Nina Park works her subtlety-is-key magic on Laura Harrier, making use of Kiehl’s Buttermask For Lips on the cheekbones as a dewy highlighter.

“Coral-chromatic”

The easiest way to look put together with only one product/colour in your arsenal is to wear it for both your eyes and lips. Layer on skincare (serum and moisturiser) for ultra-dewy skin before applying makeup, and don’t forget to dab on Chanel’s Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick on the coral hue for a subtle sheen.

A vampy bold lip

A strong eye-strong lip look isn’t necessarily a faux pas—use colours of the same spectrum and ensure that you blend out your eyeshadow to prevent boxed-in eyes. Tip: layer two shades of lipstick before adding lip gloss for a high-shine effect.

Eye see what you mean

Can’t blend out a smokey eye to save your life? Try this easy hack of using liquid eyeliner to achieving a statement look easily. Marc Jacobs Beauty’s metallic Liquid Highliner is what you need to create a graphic eye. Minimum effort, maximum impact.

Matte and jelly

No better time than the festive season to flaunt your love for over-the-top colours and textures. Try this flashy look spotted on our celebrity makeup crush Lucy Boynton—yellow “jellied” lids and a crimson matte lip for the ultimate of colour contrasts.
