In case you missed it, I got my hair bleached platinum blonde earlier this year. It’s been a few months (and a few root touch-ups) since I first dived into my blonde ambitions, and I’ve made it a mission of mine to keep my hair long, (relatively) healthy and bright. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but I think it’s safe to say I’ve succeeded.
I’ve tried countless toning blonde shampoos, conditioners, masks and treatments and I’ve narrowed it down to my top eight picks. Here are my personal favourites—in no particular order.

This toning shampoo is what I reach for when I’m in need of a big colour correction—that, and when my hair is feeling especially brittle. You see, Olaplex’s blonding system neutralises brassiness and strengthens your bleached strands in one rich lather, making it a must-have for all blondes. Sulfate-free for a gentler cleanse, the patented technology in this shampoo claims to work on all blondes and greys in just one to three minutes—and boy does it deliver. Another award winner—this time the ‘Best for Blondes’ award in our 2024 BURO Beauty Empties—Davines’ Heart of Glass shampoo and conditioner is the duo I reach for on a daily basis. It does a great job of toning out unwanted reflects in my blonde without leaving my hair dry and stripped. It is also great for regular washing as the natural pigments that power this range are designed to prevent colour overcharge and staining, so I never have to worry about my hair looking too ashy or grey even with daily use. Don’t be fooled by the pretty packaging or the gorgeous scent—this blonde treatment isn’t just an ornament for your shower. It’s a stunning formulation supercharged with 13 times more pure violet pigments that does a fabulous job of nourishing, smoothing and toning blonde hair. It takes just one minute to work its magic (five, if you’re rocking some serious yellowing), banishing brassiness effortlessly and leaving your hair stunningly soft and healthy-looking.
In particular, I’ve found it to be a total lifesaver after hair touch-ups when my roots somehow always end up a little more yellow than the rest of my tresses. It is a little fiddly to apply (the applicator is too small, in my opinion), but all in all, it’s a must-have in my shower. While I don’t reach for it on a daily basis, it’s fabulous for a biweekly colour refresh.

Kérastase Première Decalcifying Repairing Shampoo and Anti-Rigidity Decalcifying repairing Conditioner
I had the pleasure of trying out this shampoo and conditioner duo at a sit-down event with Kérastase, and it has become a staple in my double hair cleanse routine. Made for over-processed and damaged hair, it’s not a toning shampoo, but it is a decalcifying one. Essentially, it works to repair over-processed and damaged hair by removing damaging calcium deposits, which in turn refreshes your colour and prevents yellowing. I love that it also helps to restore keratin links, preventing further breakage (a must with my heavily bleached strands. I also just love how it smells and feels—it’s so luxurious! PS: I always up with the hair oil from the line to bring back the shine and lustre to my strands.
