Margot Robbie fronts Chanel’s new fragrance

No stranger to the house of Chanel, actress Margot Robbie is taking up a new gig as the fragrance ambassador. The Australian-born star was appointed the fashion ambassador and the face of Chanel’s Coco Neige collection in 2018, and is known for repping the luxury fashion house couture and RTW pieces on the red carpet.

The new Gabrielle Chanel Essence, created by in-house master perfumer Olivier Polge, is slated for release this September 1. Meant to be an “olfactory interpretation” of the Gabrielle Chanel, the scent is crafted with the notes of white flowers, including tuberose, jasmine, orange blossom and ylang-ylang.

Urban Decay launches a new complexion range: Stay Naked

Urban Decay is giving us life with their latest collection (and it’s not an eyeshadow palette drop, FYI). The Stay Naked range boasts two flawless-skin essentials: the Correcting Concealer and Weightless Liquid Foundation. Both are vegan, cruelty-free and come with a 24-hour staying power. Apply the concealer to the areas that require more coverage for a second-skin finish, then buff on the foundation that’s both breathable and flexible.

The Stay Naked collection is available in stores this August 1, so ready your wallets and prepare to stock up on your complexion essentials.

Tom Ford is dropping a skincare brand, Tom Ford Research

Can’t get enough of Tom Ford’s fragrance and makeup must-haves? Brace yourselves for a new skincare line from the American designer and entrepreneur, aptly named Tom Ford Research.

“I wanted to start a serious skin-care arm and have it be science-based. This is a real skin-care product and regimen. I’m not a designer who has thrown his name on a beautifully packaged cream,” said the designer in an interview with WWD. The first two products from this lable are a Serum Concentrate and Crème Concentrate that will launch internationally in September, with active ingredients including white porcelain cacao (a rare cacao plant variation) and gyokuro (Japanese green tea). With three more products down the pipeline, Tom Ford Research will also offer skincare essentials that are in line with Asian consumer habits.

Bella Hadid goes blonde

Bella Hadid has been sporting an uncanny resemblance to her older sister Gigi and it has a lot to do with her recent hair colour change. The 24-year old model showed off her lighter tresses recently on Instagram—a bold move that’s a far cry from her signature brunette locks. After going “dirty blonde” in March this year, she went with a slightly more drastic hair change—ombré brown-honey-blonde—merely four days ago when she was out and about in New York City.

Kim Kardashian West gets fiery for her latest KKW Beauty collection

Bored of neutral palettes? Get a load of Kim Kardashian West’s latest KKW Beauty drop—the Sooo Fire range that’s high-voltage and head-turning in every way.

From her Instagram post, we learned that: “This new collection includes a 10-pan metallic eye shadow palette, 3 eyeliners and 3 glosses with a brand new formula. I wanted to create something that was fun, and completely different than what we have done before. Wait until you see this packaging!!!” In case you’re looking for a warm-toned makeup range that’s bound to pack a punch to your makeup look, these traffic-stopping shades are what you need, stat.

Neutrogena recalls its light therapy mask for potential eye damage

Neutrogena’s headline-making Light Therapy Acne Mask had set tongues wagging for various reasons when it was launched, including the advanced technology that it adopted for an at-home skincare treatment back then. But unfortunately, the beauty brand has issued a recall for these masks for health purposes most recently.

Earlier this month, the brand released a statement regarding these devices: “The Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask is safe for use by the general population when used once per day as directed. Reports of visual effects associated with the use of the Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask are rare, generally mild and transient. For a small subset of the population with certain underlying eye conditions, as well as for users taking medications which could enhance ocular photosensitivity, there is a theoretical risk of eye injury.”

Also, if there were to be any eye irritation or visual discomfort, Neutrogena suggests to immediately “stop using the light therapy masks” and “call a doctor”. In light of this debacle, let’s just say that it’s safer to stick to old-school acne remedies for now.
