Our cultural heritage is something that we should be proud of and a subject that is worth caring about. Since 2006, Sulwhasoo has been championing the value of traditional culture and master craftsmanship through its Sulwa Cultural Exhibition. This year, Sulwhasoo is reinforcing this message again in its global initiative ‘Beauty from Your Culture’, which focuses on the need of preserving our heritage.
As part of the CSR campaign, the Korean brand is introducing two new limited edition sets to support the Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO in its effort to help preserve Penang’s cultural heritage. The limited edition sets feature a unique design of a phoenix to represent the noble beauty of royal women. The artwork showcases geometric shapes with Korean patterns such as circles, triangles and hexagons.

The male phoenix is called Bong while the female phoenix is named Hwang, the former has a saw-toothed tail and the latter has a vine-shaped tail. Also pictured is the chrysanthemum flower that represents fidelity and the philosophy of everlasting beauty, and the character ‘Su’ (壽), which stands for a strong commitment to precious herbal ingredients based on traditional Korean medicine. Everything that Sulwhasoo is about.
The ‘Beauty from Your Cultre’ limited edition sets include the brand’s signature product, First Care Activating Serum EX and the Perfecting Cushion EX. These are available for purchase until 31 October 2018 at all Sulwhasoo outlets with 10 percent of the sale of each set going to the Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO in aid of Penang’s cultural heritage preservation.
