All you need to know about this bestselling serum that has made history in Shiseido

Earlier this month, we headed on an exclusive trip to Tokyo with the Shiseido team to find out what Shiseido’s newly-reformulated Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate entails. At the launch event at Omotesandō, we caught an electrifying performance from Shiseido Ultimune’s new global ambassador, world-famous dancer and choreographer Koharu Sugawara, along with a closer look and feel of the new serum.

But before we delve into the new formula, here’s a little walk through the Ultimune history: Back in 2014, the launch of Shiseido’s Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate was so well received that it exceeded the expectations of the Japanese beauty conglomerate, thanks to a slew of awards and positive feedback gained from consumers and critics alike. It made history within the company in more ways than one, and no one could have predicted the iconic status that this serum could reach especially with Shiseido’s already successful skincare lines. The whopping 25 years of research that went behind the Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate was not for naught — its formula is engineered with ImuGeneration Technology, a unique science that consistently allows the skin to strengthen from within and fight against skin damage.

A FEW FUN FACTS…

When we mentioned making history, we meant it quite literally. The Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate has boasted impressive numbers and accolades since its launch, including:

One bottle has been purchased every 13 seconds since 2014.

The serum has won 132 beauty awards globally — more than any other product in Shiseido’s 145 years of history.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Whether the professional woman whose skin is constantly subjected to the cool, arid air of a boardroom or the girl on-the-go who doesn’t have time for a pampering facial, the Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate is made for anyone who wants to control the innate powers of the skin without forking out excessively on facial aesthetics.

Back then, the serum was created for women who were looking for skincare products to prevent their skin concerns from occurring, as opposed to a skincare solution that can resolve skin concerns after its occurrence. If you’re all about the #fitspo lifestyle trend these days, tap into your skin’s inner defences with Shiseido’s Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate. After all, beautiful skin is when it is radiant from the inside as well.

HOW IT WORKS

What gives this serum a potency unlike any other is a cocktail of potent natural extracts that improve the skin’s ability to defend its own ideal condition. The new formula has Reishi Extract and Iris Extract — both effective in reducing skin inflammation and free radical damage alongside promoting cell regeneration. The Ultimune Complex has Bulgarian rose water to balance the skin pH level, while botanical extracts such as gingko, thyme and a new addition, lotus germ, help to promote skin healing and skin elasticity.

NEW DETAILS WE LOVE

The Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate now features an all-new dewy texture that absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue. “In renewing a product that was already extremely successful, we wanted to achieve an even longer-lasting, more velvety smooth texture, without sacrificing the pleasant feeling of the original,” says Dr. Yuka Hirose, lead researcher at Shiseido. “Once we settled on a formulation, we tested it in various countries to make sure the texture would offer a comfortable, luxurious sensation for all skin types.”

The serum’s scent has also been revamped with the ImuCalm Compound — a combination of floral fragrance ingredients that soothe rather than overwhelm thanks to rose and lotus elements.
