This Spring/Summer 2017, it seems like a few good beauty trends from the past decades are coming back in full force, including sparkly shimmery eyes that were given a refreshing update at Marchesa. And just when we thought that contouring has taken a slight backseat this season, Chanel Spring/Summer 2017 levels up by reviving draping—pretty much the IT way to achieve flushed angles today.
Made popular by American makeup artist Way Bandy back in the ’60s and ’70s, draping involves contouring your features with blush instead of a typical dark shade of brown—think the au naturel flush you get after partying the whole night away. Here’s how you can ace the look effortlessly as demonstrated by makeup artist Tom Pecheux backstage at the show:
Step 2: Blend Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation over the complexion and dab Éclat Lumière Highlighter Face Pen and Correcteur Perfection Long Lasting Concealer to conceal dark areas and imperfections on the face. Finish with Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF15 for a sheer, luminous finish.
Step 3: Blend out the silver grey and dark grey shade from Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Smoky 246 over your eyelids, then apply the highlighting shade on the middle of your lids to make your eyes pop. Define brows with La Palette Sourcils De Chanel.
Step 4: Contour your cheekbones with the dark brown shade in Coco Code Blush Harmony and then buff it out with the coral pink colour. Extend upwards to the area next to your eyes and below your brow bone if you prefer.
Step 5: Complete your look with Rouge Allure Velvet and glide a layer of Rouge Allure Ink for a matte finish. Apply a dab of Gloss Volume Pumping Lipgloss in the middle of the lips for a pouty effect.
