Just a few days ago, models marched down the runway to the sound of silence at Marc Jacobs SS18, letting a flurry of whimsical floral prints, oversized silhouettes, psychedelic pops of colour and stunning head wraps speak volumes of the collection. And to complement the ‘quiet’ confidence of this bold, soundtrack-less show was an equally strong look created by lead Marc Jacobs Beauty makeup artist Diane Kendal – wallflowers need not apply.
Recreating the Blacquer Eye
The key is to boldly line and layer the eyes using black-as-night formulas to create different variations of the winged eye – think exagerrated flicks or dead-straight extensions at outer corners of your eyes, short winged tips or double flicks at both the inner and outer corners – depending on what works for the shape of your peepers before finishing with lashings of mascara. Here’s what you’ll need:

Pair with luminous skin
Let the eyes take center stage by keeping the rest of the skin fresh, luminous and natural. Prep the skin using a face primer before applying an oil-free foundation to create an even base. Optional tip: Dot highlighter on the cheekbones and along the bridge of the nose to bring extra attention to your features. Finally, set the look with a perfecting mist so you don’t have to worry about touch-ups in between.

Finish with natural lips
Lastly, prep the lips with a lock-in moisture balm to create a smooth surface before applying a touch of colour to perfect the look and you’re done!
