5 Reasons why we’ll run into the new year with the Under Armour Charged Bandit 3

The most memorable “run” I’ve ever had in my life took place when I was 14 years old as I ran for my life, far away from the stray dog gone wild in my friend’s neighbourhood. I’ve never run as fast as I did that day or got the same high. That is until recently when I found the same heart pounding rush again when I got acquainted with the Under Armour Charged Bandit 3. The neutral running shoe has lots to show for its simple design.

Let me give you five reasons why the UA Bandit 3 got my adrenaline pumping in the last two months of mad running in them and why I’ll continue to do so in the New Year.

It looks good

Ok, let’s be superficial for a while. I’m naturally attracted to pretty packaging and the UA Bandit 3 has a clean seamless design that is easy on the eyes. The thing with most serious running shoes is that they tend to look fierce with some funky colours and stripes, which is fine if you like that sort of style. My pair of Bandit 3 was better suited for my dark soul.

It feels amazing

With a lightweight construction, the third generation of the Under Armour Charged Bandit family feels incredibly comfortable to put on and run in. I’ve not felt this connected to a pair of running shoes before. There’s ample cushioning for my heel, which helps when I’m pounding the road for longer runs. Also, the EVA tongue connects to the upper so the fit stays put throughout.

It’s performance-driven

Under Armour has perfected its SpeedForm technology in this pair of shoes – it has a seamless moulded heel cup to keep feet in place, so you don’t slide around risking blisters. The solid sole unit also lends the runner a stable support while the rubber outsole provides good traction in dry condition. But not so much when in contact with slippery surface. Take note!

It’s breathable

Runners tend to get heated up when on the road and things can be pretty ugly – read: smelly. With the UA Bandit 3’s anti-microbial Ortholite sockliner, you’ll be happy to know that it helps in preventing growth of bacteria or fungi. Something that the clean freak in me appreciates when I do my runs day in day out. The upper knit material also keeps me cool with its breathability and comfort.

It’s enjoyable

The UA Bandit 3 is engineered with Charged Cushioning, which gives the midsole great responsiveness and durability. My runs were effortless in this shoe; every session felt springy and energised with each step, plus I take comfort in the fact that there weren’t much impact on my knees or feet. Running has become that much more enjoyable these days! You can bet, my Under Armour Charged Bandit 3 will remain in heavy rotation from here onwards.
