The latest edition (June 2026) of our monthly guide to all the new restaurants, cafés, and bars around KL & PJ for your next edible adventure!

June has arrived and that means we’re almost halfway through the year! Don’t worry, we don’t know how we got here so quickly either. But… we do know that we’ve been well-fed along the way and we don’t think that will be stopping any time soon—especially with these new openings. From Thai-Hainanese plates to fresh seafood all the way from Jeju, we’ve got a great mix of new bites that are worth adding to your June 2026 radar in this edition of #BUROEats

This PJ Old Town newcomer is bringing some new French flair to the storied neighbourhood! Its menu is dotted with the likes of ratatouille, duck confit (fitting), coq au vin, and even French toast for those with a sweet tooth. Enjoy it all with a glass of the signature Peaches & Cream drink in its cosy little space.

2. MULJIL

The best of Jeju’s seas have found a new home at Muljil, a collaboration between the people behind Maljiro and Taan Korean Steakhouse, named after the Jeju term for “lady in the water” or haenyeo. The star of the menu is its delectable Han Sang platter, filled with the freshest catch of the day such as abalone, octopus, ‘hanchi’ squid, red snapper, and sweet prawns. You can also upgrade up your meal with to a full feast, which includes a serving of sea snail somyeon, Hanwoo beef tataki, tofu with spicy pollack tripe, Korean pancakes, and soy-marinated tiger prawns—all of which are also available on an a la carte basis.

3. 555 THAINANESE CHICKEN RICE

Get your fix of Hainanese chicken rice through a Thai lens at the aptly named 555 Thainanese Chicken Rice in Sri Hartamas. This casual hangout has plates of the regional favourite flying out of its kitchen, alongside other specialty mains and sides. They include its signature pad kaprao, fried chicken, fried gizzard crisps, Son in Law eggs, and even curry laksa. Its claybrew coffee is also worth adding to your order for a rich caffeine hit.

A collaboration between Kuro Coffee and Pohutukawa Coffee, Proust arrives in Seventeen Mall as its latest takeaway stop, specialising in focaccia. Pop by for your fix of coffee and bread of the day. Aside from its signature focaccia loaves, it also has a selection of bakes that are calling your name such as madeleines and financiers.

5. LINLIN CAKE SHOP

One of the Klang Valley’s most beloved bakers has finally taken her bakes offline and opened LinLin Cake Shop! Located in The Pocket, the little store stocks some of her greatest cake hits, decorated with her iconic icing characters. Cakes are sold by the slice, so you’ll be able to sample a range of her creations instead of having to commit to a whole cake. Do keep your eyes on its social media for the latest updates on its opening hours and stock.

6. DON’T TELL MAMA

Don’t Tell Mama is one of PJ’s new coffee hangouts that turns into a steakhouse once the sun goes down. During lunchtime, patrons will find bowls of beef brisket ramen, freshly brewed coffee, and more on its menu. Dinnertime goers will instead be treated to plates of truffle capellini, engawa claypot rice, and, of course, steak. Pets are also welcome in its outdoor seating.

7. LAZE & MUNCH

Its name tells you exactly what to do when you’re in its space. Laze & Munch pops up in the Taman Abadi Indah neighbourhood, bringing fresh brews, creative drinks, and some bites to line your stomach with. Favourites so far include its chestnut chocolate tiramisu, hojicha latte, and Shino, a dish of fresh cream, miso, nori, and crackers.

In its cosy, rustic space, you’ll find your fill of kuih-muih such as kuih lapis and angku kuih, best enjoyed with a cup of coffee in your hand.

On the menu are, you guessed it, a range of chicken tenders, served on their own, as part of a burger or in a doughnut sandwich. Its menu may be simple, but it’s all in the name of maximum indulgence.

This new bar highlights the art of alcohol-free cocktail making, proving that the complexity and depth of your drinks shouldn’t have to depend on the liquor (or you getting a hangover the next morning). Plus, it brings the beauty of cocktails to all, even if alcohol isn’t in their diet. Located in Pasar Seni, this humble sober hangout uses Jamu and Pudina as their bases in the menu of around 13 drinks.
