H&M’s Summer 2026 Collection Embraces Scarf Prints for Summer Dressing

There’s a new hero piece shaping summer wardrobes and it’s not the usual linen shirt or barely-there slip dress. This season, H&M places the scarf at the centre of its Summer 2026 collection, reimagining the timeless accessory as a full ready-to-wear statement. It runs through print, drape and fluid construction, where silhouettes shift between structure and softness.

“This season, I became fascinated by the history of the scarf: its blend of lightness and boldness, and its role as one of the earliest fashion items, worn from antiquity through to the streets today,” says Eliana Masgalos Duarte, Womenswear Design Lead at H&M. “The collection channels that spirit of past and present, elegance and ease, bringing a spirit that is rich and storied, as well as sensual and fresh.”

Colour arrives like heat on skin, moving through sunrise and sunset tones of papaya, mango, kiwi and tangerine, balanced by earthy terracotta browns. The effect is sun-drenched and cinematic, as daylight stretches across long days that dissolve quietly into evening.

Prints pick up the language of the scarf, translating kaleidoscopic exotic flowers and geometric motifs through the faded charm of silk scarves. Some of the strongest looks emerge through layered styling, from printed sarong skirts worn with matching tops to lightweight knits detailed with woven loops and playful seahorse graphics.

Silhouette opens the collection in a more relaxed register. Maxi dresses fall in generous volume, held by braided ties or delicate beaded straps, while trousers shift between balloon and barrel forms with a looser structure. Others come with semi-sheer skirt overlays that bring lightness and fluidity to the silhouette.

Crochet adds a more tactile note, sitting against rippling knits that shape volume across dresses and skirts. In swimwear, ombré swimsuits and bikinis are detailed with chain details and fine beading, catching light without feeling heavy.

The jelly flip flop returns as a summer staple, reworked in a mix of hues and updated with kitten-heel and wedge forms. Beaded evening bags arrive with a long fringing that moves between sea-washed blues, sun-faded ambers and sandy neutrals. Jewellery takes on a more expressive note, from fish-shaped earrings and pineapple hairclips to shell-inspired forms, layered with oversized bangles and chunky gold-tone chains.

The Summer 2026 collection is now available online and in stores nationwide.
