Actor Awards 2026: Full Winners List and Highlights
Highs and highs
The newly rebranded Actor Awards—formerly known as the SAG Awards—unfolded at the L.A. Shrine Auditorium with Hollywood’s best in film and TV on 1 March. For over 30 years, the SAG Awards were named for the US actors’ union: the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. However, the annual ceremony’s new name, the Actor Awards, serves to mark its move from cable to Netflix (the awards show was livestreamed exclusively on the platform) and honour the acting above all else.
Some 118,000 working actors who are members of the guild vote for their favourite performances in the past year, many of whom are also part of the acting branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which hands out the Oscars. This is why the Actor Awards are often seen as a huge indicator of winners at the Oscars, especially as the last major precursor event before the coveted awards show.
While their votes hold significant weight in predicting winners at the Oscars, it doesn’t always happen. Case in point: Demi Moore winning best actress at the then-SAGs last year before losing out to Mikey Madison for Anora. Likewise, Adrien Brody nabbing the golden statuette from SAG-winner Timothee Chalamet in 2025 for The Brutalist. Essentially, anything can still happen, and this year’s Actor Awards have certainly upended a few categories right before the big finale.
The attendees were full of familiar faces from the 2026 awards season. One Battle After Another went in as the most nominated group of the evening with seven nominations, while Sinners’ actors trailed behind with five nominations.

To everyone’s delight, Sinners won the top prize of the night for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. This makes Ryan Coogler the only director with two films in this honour after 2018’s Black Panther.
In another surprising win, Michael B. Jordan took home best actor for his dual performance as twins in the vampire gothic. Jordan was nominated in the same category at every other film award ceremony, but lost out to his peers until tonight’s ceremony. With the playing field levelled, the race for best actor at the Oscars could be anyone’s game.

Jessie Buckley continues her winning streak with her affecting performance as a grief-stricken mother in Hamnet. Meanwhile, Amy Madigan celebrates her first nomination by the guild by taking home the Actor Award for best supporting actress as the villainous witch in Weapons.

Over on TV, self-referential workplace satire The Studio and gritty medical drama The Pitt continue to dominate in their respective categories. Both took home outstanding performance in an ensemble for comedy and drama, respectively, with Seth Rogen and Noah Wyle picking up acting accolades for their scene-stealing performances. Wyle and Adolescence-star Owen Cooper, who also won in his category but wasn’t present, have achieved the American quartet of television awards back-to-back.

For the ‘In Memorium’ segment of the night, some of Hollywood’s brightest and greatest were honoured, such as Eric Dane, Rob Reiner, Michelle Trachtenberg, Diane Keaton, and Catherine O’Hara. The tribute was also commemorated with a rousing performance by Miles Caton, who sang ‘This Little Light of Mine’ from Sinners.
O’Hara was posthumously awarded outstanding performance by a female actress in a comedy series. Her co-star, Seth Rogen, went on stage to accept the award on her behalf.

While Shrinking wasn’t nominated, star Harrison Ford attended to receive the honorary SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award. Presented by his close friend Woody Harrelson, Ford delivered an emotional speech on stage. “I’m, indeed, a lucky guy. Lucky to have found my people. Lucky to have work that challenges me. Lucky to still be doing it. And I don’t take that for granted,” he shared while visibly holding back tears.

Speaking of big stars, all eyes were on Hollywood’s hottest heartthrob of the moment, Connor Storrie. The breakout star of Heated Rivalry announced the Actor Awards nominations with Janelle James in January. Fresh from his SNL debut less than 24 hours ago, Storrie attended as a presenter at tonight’s ceremony for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series alongside Kathryn Hahn. In an upset, Keri Russell took home the prize for her role in The Diplomat over Pluribus’s Rhea Seehorn.
