IFS Chengdu was abuzz with excitement as Hublot’s official boutique opening marked another milestone of the brand in the Chinese market. At the same time, Hublot’s Big Bang 10th Anniversary Exhibition was held in collaboration with the Heart Panda Public Art Exhibition, a WWF initiative, on the first floor of IFS, representing a unique experience where traditional watchmaking and modern art meet. In tribute to WWF China’s 35th birthday, the Swiss luxury watchmaker created the Big Bang Panda, a highlight amongst the panda-themed items on display at the exhibition.
The Big Bang Panda is a remarkable timepiece. It features an exquisite 18-carat solid white gold hand-engraved appliqué of a panda encased in a sleek bezel of polished stainless steel. The miniature enamel hand painting detail on the dial portrays a beautiful work of art. Powered by the HUB 1100 self-winding movement, the classic motion is clearly visible through the sapphire case back. The watch was auctioned at the charity dinner gala on the night of the boutique opening, with all proceeds donated to WWF. The donation will be used in funding the protection of the natural habitat of pandas and promotion of environmental sustainability.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Ricardo Guadalupe said, “I’m very glad to be here and witnessed this glorious moment in China, celebrating the 35th anniversary of WWF China.
