8 Rainbow watches that make a vibrant statement on your wrist

Many people may not know this, but Rolex was the first luxury watch designer to explore rainbow-coloured watches in the 1980s, with colourful sapphires adorning the iconic Cellini models. However, it wasn’t until 2012 that the trend gained traction, notably when Rolex debuted the Rainbow Cosmograph Daytona at Baselworld. The masterpiece ultimately ignited the rainbow wave, and more luxury watchmakers have since followed suit.

Ahead, we’ve rounded up eight luxury watches that perfectly capture the vivid vibes, including the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 and the Tag Heuer Carrera Polychrome.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 is the pinnacle of elegance and comfort. This timepiece resides in an Everose gold case and boasts 10 baguette-cut, rainbow-coloured sapphires adorning the hour markers that harmonise with the diamond-paved dial. While the bezel is studded with diamonds, the bracelet features a diamond-set President bracelet with semi-circular three-piece links for added bling.

Richard Mille RM 68-01 Tourbillon Cyril Kongo

Although the RM 68-01 by Richard Mille doesn’t feature a rainbow bezel, it serves as a canvas to introduce modern art into the realm of luxury watches. This idea comes to life through French street artist Cyril Kongo’s painting on the baseplate of the Tourbillon movement and the inner bezel in an indelible palette of bright colours. Fun fact: It takes more than a year to perfect Kongo’s painting technique.
