LVMH Watch Week 2024: 6 Timepieces that caught our attention

The LVMH Group hosted its fifth instalment of LVMH Watch Week earlier this month in the lively city of Miami. Similar to the previous edition, the recent event united four LVMH watch brands—Bulgari, Hublot, Tag Heuer and Zenith—to showcase their latest collections. However, the occasion was marked by the presence of two iconic Maisons, Daniel Roth and Gérald Genta, now housed under La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. Ahead, we spotlight six remarkable timepieces that captured our attention during the five-day affair.

Bulgari joined forces with its brand ambassador, Lisa of Blackpink, to design the Bulgari Bulgari x Lisa Limited Edition. Housed in a sophisticated blend of steel and rose gold case, this timepiece boasts a white mother-of-pearl mosaic dial, coupled with 12 diamond indexes and a rose gold bezel intricately engraved with Bulgari double logo. The carefully selected bracelet by the global sensation adds to its appeal, as does the unique Edelweiss flower engraving on the case back. Powered by a quartz movement, the wristwatch is released in an exclusive quantity of 1,100 for the 33mm-diametre version and 400 for the 23mm diameter iteration.

Hublot continues to redefine the boundaries of watchmaking with the introduction of the MP-10 Tourbillon Weight Energy System Titanium. The avant-garde masterpiece breaks free from conventional norms by discarding the dial, hands and oscillating weight. Instead, it releases a captivating design featuring four constantly rotating displays, which showcase the hours and minutes in the upper third of the watch. The innovative use of an invisible magnifying glass enhances the ease of time reading. Another highlight of the watch is the power reserve, which sports a two-tone disc set coaxially to the hours and minutes.

Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar

Zenith’s iconic triple calendar chronograph makes a great comeback this year with the reveal of the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar. What makes this timepiece special is its reliance on the new El Primero 3610 movement, which operates at a remarkable 5 Hz to deliver an accurate 1/10th of a second chronograph function. Despite the inclusion of the complete calendar, its efficient transmission ensures a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. The bezel-less watch arrives with a sturdy calfskin strap that harmonises with the panda-style dial design.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph

Tag Heuer presented six new models this time, and among them, the Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph stands out as a true eye-catcher. Crafted for the modern adventurer, this wristwatch draws inspiration from the beauty of the Northern Lights and incorporates the Solargraph movement that provides an impressive power reserve of up to 10 months. It also comes equipped with a robust three-row bracelet, secured by a steel folding clasp that includes double safety push-buttons and an adjustment link. Other features include scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a unidirectional dive bezel and an outstanding water resistance of up to 200 metres.

Gérald Genta is a revered figure in the watchmaking industry, renowned for creating some of the most iconic timepieces like the Cartier Pasha and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. At this year’s LVMH Watch Week, the Bulgari-owned brand introduced a special Mickey Mouse-themed watch, which was not only crafted for the 10th edition of Only Watch but also to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gérald Genta’s first timepiece and the centenary celebration of Disney. This chronograph boasts a white gold octagonal case, embellished with a captivating mix of alternating polished and brushed surfaces that are synonymous with Genta’s distinctive style. Powering the watch is the proprietary calibre GG-001, a manually wound movement seamlessly combining a minute repeater and jumping hour.

The Tourbillon Souscription elegantly reinterprets Daniel Roth’s double ellipse case, accentuating the tourbillon complication and providing ample room for the dial to shine. The dial is crafted from solid gold and sports exquisite Clous de Paris guilloché reminiscent of the original dial. The true highlight of the horological piece is the calibre DR001, painstakingly hand-finished to the utmost standard. Limited to 20 pieces worldwide, the watch includes a luxurious calfskin leather strap as well as an upgraded crown for seamless manual winding.
