Here are 5 luxury watches worn by elite professional golfers

Similar to Formula One, golf is one of those luxury sports where watchmakers have taken great pleasure in funding prestigious tournaments and supporting professional golfers. After all, both elite sports and the art of watchmaking demand exceptional performance and style, which makes these world-class sportsmen the perfect ambassador for high-end watch labels. Below, we take a closer look at some of the designer timepieces worn by elite golfers such as Tiger Woods, Viktor Hovland and more.

Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea

Tiger Woods’ go-to watch has always been the Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea. Powered by Calibre 3235, this dive watch boasts a sleek black dial with luminous Chromalight hour markers and hands that illuminate brilliantly in the dark. Additionally, it sports a rotating bezel that enables divers to accurately and safely monitor their dive. While this feature may not be significant to the American professional golfer, the Rolex timepiece nonetheless radiates sophistication thanks to its polished Oyster Steel case and band.

Omega Speedmaster ’57

The Omega Speedmaster ’57 is inspired by the timeless 1957 model and displays a black dial with vintage Super-LumiNova hour markers. A closer look reveals the iconic ‘broad arrow’ hands and a blackened tachymeter scale encircling the brushed bezel. Movement-wise, it’s powered by Calibre 9906 and offers a power reserve of 60 hours. While the one seen on Collin Morikawa’s wrist has a steel bracelet, you can have fun with different straps ranging from Nato straps to two-piece straps and alter them as you see fit.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver

At the 2022 Hero World Challenge, reigning champion Viktor Hovland was spotted wearing the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver—one that flawlessly brings together modern, sporty aesthetics with classic hand embellishments. Aside from the khaki dial and the date window at the 3 o’clock position, what defines this wristwatch is the movement. It is driven by a modern Calibre 4308 that provides stability and precision when adjusting the settings. Additionally, it has an interchangeability system built right into the case’s studs and buckle, allowing the strap to be replaced at any time.

Tag Heuer Connected Golf Edition

While most professional golfers wear high-end analogue watches, Tommy Fleetwood defied standard by sporting the Tag Heuer Connected Golf Edition—the Swiss watchmaker’s first smartwatch. This digital watch sports an ultra-lightweight titanium case that sits comfortably on the wrist and includes the Tag Heuer Golf app, which allows one to track their progress on more than 40,000 golf courses. Furthermore, it comes with a stylish white rubber strap embellished with golf ball patterns, as well as an extra black rubber strap for added versatility.

Hublot Classic Fusion Ceramic Blue

If you haven’t heard, Dustin Johnson is a Hublot ambassador, so it’s only fitting that the American golfer sports a timepiece from the Swiss brand—specifically, the Hublot Classic Fusion Ceramic Blue. This 45mm chronograph is housed in a polished black ceramic case and features a satin-finished blue sunray dial that matches its blue-lined rubber straps. What’s more, it is powered by the Calibre HUB1143 and includes a 42-hour battery backup.
