Inside the 25th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève
Precious time
The 25th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) brought style, suspense, and a whole lot of sizzling timepieces to the world of haute horology. Held at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, the event drew distinguished brands and enthusiasts to celebrate spectacular watchmaking. Here, 90 nominees handpicked by the GPHG Academy—a global network of over 1,000 industry professionals—vied for the coveted Hands of Time.
Claiming the top honour, “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix, Breguet’s Classique Souscription 2025 captivated the thirty-strong jury with its cultural cachet. This faithful reinterpretation of the 18th-century Souscription pocket watch symbolises the genius of a watchmaker’s agility in navigating the changing landscape of luxury watches, just like how Abraham-Louis Breguet revolutionised the industry with the original in the face of the French Revolution.
Other heavy hitters of the evening include Chopard and Bvlgari. The former, in particular, made a strong showing as it took home the Ladies’ Complication and Sports watch prizes for the Imperiale Four Seasons and the Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF, respectively. The latter, on the other hand, bagged the Tourbillon trophy for its innovative Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon. Read on for the full list of GPHG honorees this year.
