Van Cleef & Arpels unveils its latest timepiece marvels at the recent Wonders & Watches 2024, meticulously crafted in collaboration with Jean-Baptiste Auvray. This visionary designer and scenographer seamlessly melded two beloved themes of Van Cleef & Arpels — Enchanted Nature and Poetic Astronomy — into these stunning new creations. We’ve observed a significant expansion in their Poetic Complications collection, seeing three brand-new magical timepieces and two in the Extraordinary Dials collections.
Poetic Complications collection
Van Cleef & Arpels sees a reinvention of the iconic Lady Arpels Jour Nuit watch. Now in two new iterations in 33 and 38-mm sizes, these new creations are meticulously crafted over three years, under the Maison’s watchmaking expertise, seamlessly blending luxurious materials with honoured craftsmanship to narrate a tale that breathes life into each dial.
In them, you’ll witness diamond-studded moons and stars perpetually chasing the sun, adorned with either snow-set yellow sapphires or intricately guilloché yellow gold. The depth effect of the Murano aventurine glass allows the wearer to spectate the immensity of the cosmos and the magic of a starry night in these magical pieces.
As for Lady Arpels Brise d’Ét, butterflies take charge in telling the time. It’s a celebration of the freshness of a summer morning, a new creation that brings bloom to the Maison’s garden. The butterflies, crafted from white and yellow gold and rendered in plique-à-jour enamel, flutter thanks to an on-demand animation module—breathing life into the flowers and stems.
Extraordinary Dials collection
The Extraordinary Dials collections see two captivating additions to its collection, Lady Arpels Jour Enchanté and Lady Arpels Nuit Enchantée. The Lady Arpels Jour Enchanté introduces a tale of a fairy hand-picking flowers in the early morning sun. Its counterpart, Lady Arpels Nuit Enchantée reflects the same feminine energy but features a figure resting in a moonlit cave of dazzling crystals. Both are described as works of art, combined with artistic craftsmanship that offers wearers a captivating glimpse into an enchanted universe.
