Watch: Kate Winslet’s first visit to Longines, Saint-Imier

For the first time since joining the Longines family in 2010, the iconic Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet makes a visit to the Swiss watchmaker’s head office in Saint-Imier, the place where the brand was created in 1832. While she was there, Walter von Känel, President of Longines, took the honour of leading her along the heritage-rich corridors, where Longines watches are brought to life by exquisite craftsmanship, and a walk through the Longines Museum, a testament and reminder of the brand’s glorious journey in watchmaking thus far.

On her visit, Kate Winslet selected a watch that is to be re-issued for the benefit of the Golden Hat Foundation. The non-profit organisation was co-founded by the actress in 2010, and is dedicated to changing public perspective of people on the autism spectrum. “I was delighted to learn that Longines is so in touch with its rich history, from which it draws inspiration for creating new works of art that adhere to its values. I am deeply grateful to Longines for the support they have shown for the Golden Hat Foundation, an organisation that is dear to my heart. It makes me incredibly proud to be able to contribute to raising public awareness of the situation that face individual with autism,” said Winslet.
