BURO Spotlights: A night with Tudor and David Beckham in Kuala Lumpur

During his brief stopover in Kuala Lumpur, before continuing to Hong Kong for a friendly match between his team Inter Miami FC and Team Hong Kong, football legend David Beckham made a special appearance at Sentul Depot Kuala Lumpur on February 1st. Accompanied by 250 special guests, Beckham joined Tudor for an unforgettable evening. Against the rugged backdrop of Sentul Depot, the brand’s bespoke colours—red, black, and white—created a stunning contrast. As an award-winning Swiss manufacturer known for catering to the boldest adventurers and those curious about the world, Tudor’s signature style perfectly aligns with individuals who have achieved the extraordinary. In this regard, Beckham himself epitomises that essence.

The extraordinary event, themed ‘Beckham’s Born to Dare Journey with Tudor’, featured him taking the stage to discuss his partnership with the brand and his dedication to continuous reinvention. Adorning his wrist was the new Black Bay, boasting a burgundy bezel with evolved design elements, a T-fit clasp, and Master Chronometer certification by METAS.

“We have the perfect partnership where you challenge me, and I sometimes challenge you guys, and that’s why I call it a family because it really feels like it,” remarked the former athlete regarding his collaboration with Tudor.

The event also paid homage to the new Tudor Manufacture, the watchmaker’s industrial facility spanning over 5,500 square meters in Le Locle, Switzerland. The event’s unique setup allowed guests to explore the new Manufacture through Beckham’s perspective, offering an interactive watchmaking experience that unveiled the craftsmanship behind each Tudor timepiece.

This state-of-the-art facility is truly special as it unites the expertise of watchmakers with cutting-edge technology. Serving as a testament to the brand’s commitment to precision and quality, the facility embodies excellence. Reflecting on his visit to Le Locle, Beckham expressed, “You know, seeing all of the staff there and witnessing all of the people crafting these incredible timepieces, was quite emotional. It felt very special.”

To honour Malaysia’s cultural legacy, the evening’s entertainment was carefully selected to offer an enchanting portrayal of the country’s unique diversity. A lively lion dance symbolised auspicious beginnings for the upcoming year, followed by a traditional dance performance by a renowned homegrown dance ensemble, showcasing impressive choreography. Additionally, guests were treated to a culinary expedition by Beta KL, a Michelin-starred restaurant, paying homage to Malaysia’s culinary traditions.
