Richard Mille may have only introduced women’s watches four years after its first men’s novelty in 2001, but the brand has upped its game when it comes to timepieces for the ladies in recent years. Following the launch of the RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman in November last year, his round, the spotlight’s on the latest additions to the RM 07-01 Automatic collection—the RM 07-01 Automatic Starry Night and the RM 07-01 Automatic with an open-link bracelet. Both models highlight the patented Carbon TPT—a high-performance material that’s strong yet light.

Befitting its name, the RM 07-01 Automatic Starry Night features 181 diamonds that are set in 5N red-gold prong settings, peppered all over the Carbon TPT dial and bezel. Its charm doesn’t just lie in the embellishment. The mastery of machining the Carbon TPT is also demonstrated, as specialist CNC machines equipped with diamond bits are used in order to shape the hard material.

On the other hand, the RM 07-01 Automatic is a fresh take on the open-link bracelet that we’re used to seeing from the brand. While the bezel and the casebook are crafted in Carbon TPT, and the caseband in 5N red gold, the strap is a combination of both materials weaved together. The contrast of colours is definitely one of the model’s main appeals.

Beneath the surface, both watches house the in-house Caliber CRMA2—a skeletonised movement with hours, minutes, and a variable-geometry rotor—under its signature tonneau case, sealed with a matching shaped clasp.

They may look like the perfect evening watches for the bold and modern at first glance, but who are we kidding—we’d gladly wear them during the day too.
