Louis Vuitton reimagines its Monogram Flower with the Blossom collection
Louis Vuitton's iconic key symbols, the Monogram Flower, is the centrepiece of the house's latest Blossom collection featuring both jewellery and precious watches. With a focus on flowers sculpted from mother-of-pearl and ornamental stones, the collection features three-dimensional work that allows the Monogram Flower to "open" its petals across sautoir necklaces, pendants, bracelets and earrings. Grey or white mother-of-pearl and cornelian or tiger's eye are hand-sculpted and polished for a rounded contour that contrasts with the fine yellow and pink gold chains. The Monogram Flower is set within a circle or diamond shape, representing the heritage and savoir-faire of the Maison. Two high jewellery pieces include a long chain paved entirely with diamonds and a necklace with medallions of sculpted mother-of-pearl on a row of Tahitian pearls.
The Monogram Flower is also set at the centre of the Blossom watches, highlighting the technical excellence of the Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. A noteworthy point is that each flower is sculpted in three dimensions from one piece of mother-of-pearl. Shades of blue or pink are hand-applied to the reverse of the piece for a nuanced effect. The face features diamonds from a steel design with studded bezel and index to a pink gold version with a snow-set face. All cases and indexes are diamond-paved on both variations of watches—the Tambour Spin Time and Tambour Monogram Tourbillon. However, a flower-shaped cage of the tourbillon is fitted on the Tambour Monogram Tourbillon, a movement that allows time to be read through a series of rotating diamond-studded cubes around the central flower.
