Hublot in support of the Womanity Foundation

For close to 10 years, Hublot has believed in a world where progress and innovation are written in both the feminine and masculine forms, one in which women and men has equal participation. It seems only apt that the Swiss luxury watchmaker joins the Womanity Foundation in its plight to empower disadvantaged women and girls, giving them the keys to their independence and future.

“They (women) are our present and our future. If equality is a fundamental right for individuals, we must continue to ensure that it is respected and, above all, encouraged in every counry in the world. Our support for Yann Borgstedt and his Womanity Foundation began in 2007. It seemed perfectly natural for Hublot to commit to the independence of the women and girls of this world. To an independence of spirit, choice and decisions made possible by access to education and training. A liberty that seems so evident to us but that remains far too often trampled in certain regions of the world”, states Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot.

In occasion of a charity gala held by Womanity Foundation in Geneva earlier this month, Hublot created two individually numbered exclusive Big Bang “Womanity” timepieces, limited to 100 pieces each. Both incorporate the Foundation’s signature purple in their designs. One is a women’s model—clad in jeans and enhanced with diamonds, it is powered by the HUB1110 self-winding mechanical movement.

The other sports a more masculine appeal, a chronograph entirely sculpted in carbon fibre, and home to a HUB4100 self-winding chronograph movement with a 42-hour power reserve.
