Bell & Ross introduces its sleekest, most refined silhouette yet in the BR 05
The Bell & Ross name has always been synonymous with military references, well-known for its iconic square BR 03 model designed for professionals to withstand extreme environments; be it for the sky, land or sea. This year, the manufacture's latest creation sees it explore a brand new pillar—a luxury sports timepiece that is sleek and refined, the new BR 05 is made for the city.
If the BR0 3 is the rugged older brother, always game for an off-road adventure, then think of the BR 05 as its urban counterpart, with a sleek demeanour that won't look out of place in the midst of modern cities and towering skyscrapers. True to Bell & Ross' DNA, the BR 05 wears its signature aesthetic of a round dial within a square case, but with curved edges that softens the angles into a more elegant, structured cushion design. The exposed crews at the four corners remain, as do the brand-specific font of the Arabic numerals.
Crafted in stainless steel, the three-part case features the rounded square bezel with integrated lugs—a wonderful architectural play of angles when viewed from the side—and the screw-down caseback through which the automatic BR-CAL.321 movement can be seen. The satin-finished surfaces complement the minimal sunray-brushed dial perfectly in coherence with the elegant direction of the BR 05 line.
Measuring at 40mm, the BR 05 is available in three dial colour variations: blue, grey and black. Having seen them in person, they each have its own appeal—the shade of blue is really beautiful and striking; the grey being the more muted model of the lot with its graceful tonal play; while the black is simply classic. It comes with either a three-link stainless steel bracelet or ribbed rubber strap.
