Introducing the new face of the iconic Santos de Cartier watch: Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal is the definition of a Santos de Cartier man—one who gives his all in everything he does, with passion and full-on enthusiasm. Resonating with the values of Cartier, the brand has tapped the actor to star in its new advertisement that celebrates the iconic watch. This is Gyllenhaal’s second time starring as the face of a campaign—the Stronger star previously made his debut as an ambassador for Calvin Klein’s Eternity fragrance.

Created in 1904, the Santos de Cartier watch—the brand’s first wristwatch—was made by Louis Cartier for his friend—Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont who needed one to tell time while flying, and since then, it has become a mainstay in the collection. The latest iteration of the iconic watch—introduced at the SIHH back in January—features an interchangeable leather strap and metal bracelet, which enables you to swap easily thanks to the new QuickSwitch system.
