A. Lange & Söhne’s latest Saxonia models are the perfect must-haves for this festive season

Can’t decide which dress watch to go with for all your year-end parties? Or perhaps you haven’t found the right one to match your holiday look? German luxury watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne has heard your qualms and they have delivered this holiday season with three new additions to its Saxonia range. The main highlight? The dials, naturally.

If you liked the A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Outsize Date that was first launched in 2018, you’d be a new fan of the latest design. Now available with an argenté-coloured dial, the Saxonia Outsize Date comes in two versions (pink gold or white gold) alongside the existing models with black dials.

A Lange & Sohne Saxonia Outsize Date

The Saxonia Outsize Date has an extraordinary date mechanism—based on the calibre L086.1 of the Saxonia Automatic, it is fitted with 286 parts and is hand-assembled twice. It features two separate display surfaces for better legibility, a mainspring barrel for a power reserve of 72 hours, and the iconic Lange style in the form of movement details i.e. three-quarter plate (made of untreated German silver decorated with Glashütte ribbing) and hand-engraved balance cock.

But the latest addition that has caught our eyes is the new A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin, a limited 50-watch edition that is easy on the eyes—and the wrist. The stunning dial is the first to catch your attention—the shimmering effect is thanks to black gold flux that contains minute copper-toned particles, allowing the midnight-hued dial to sparkle with radiance. The rare, black gold-flux version comes with a shiny black leather strap with a prong buckle in 18-carat white gold.

The Saxonia Thin is an elegant timepiece in every aspect—the manually wound calibre L093.1 is the thinnest A. Lange & Söhne movement thus far, and boasts a power reserve of three days. Its 40mm case has a narrow bezel to allow the dial ample space, while the watch is only 6.2mm high—so you can expect a cushy fit with this watch.
