Zcova launches new retail experience in Klang Valley
Proudly Malaysian
After nine years of thriving online with experience centres all over the country, Zcova, a local jewellery brand known for its GIA and Sarine-certified diamonds and gemstones, is launching its first flagship retail store in the Klang Valley. Nestled in IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, the new store invites customers to discover its wide range of jewellery, spanning from quality engagement rings to stylish everyday pieces. “With this launch, we extend peace of mind to our customers, ensuring the provision of top-quality diamonds with dual certifications guaranteed. At Zcova, our top priority is to facilitate a seamless and secure purchasing journey for all,” shared Low Ziwei, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Zcova.
In celebration of the grand opening, the homegrown label has introduced the Isla collection, a line that embodies love and joy. Each piece is meticulously crafted from 18K gold and features the captivating beauty of Mother of Pearl and Lapis Lazuli. The Mother of Pearl Inlay piece emits a soothing energy, encouraging self-love with its delicate, oriental beauty. On the other hand, the Lapis Lazuli Inlay piece highlights themes of royalty, friendship and truth. Both variants are limited to 10 pieces each, with the Mother of Pearl version priced at RM4,990 nett and the Lapis Lazuli version at RM5,690 nett. Pre-orders for the limited-edition collection will commence on May 21, 2024.
Following the store’s launch, we spoke with founders Low Ziwei and Low Ziyin to learn more about this new venture, the inspiration behind the Isla collection, and their vision for the future.
Describe the new Zcova store in three words.
“Exciting, different and interesting.”
What makes IOI City Mall, Putrajaya the location of the new store?
“We chose this location because it is one of the biggest shopping destinations in Southeast Asia and it suits our target demographics. Our goal is to draw in clients from the surrounding area, including Seremban and Malacca, encouraging them to visit this store instead of travelling to our experience centre in Kota Damansara.”
What are some of the challenges faced by Zcova in building the physical store?
“Our main challenge is designing the store. We wanted to capture the true essence of Malaysia, infusing it with an authentic Malaysian vibe and for this reason, we’ve incorporated nature elements like rattan chairs and outfitted our staff in Kebaya-inspired uniforms, crafted by Justin Yap. For us, it’s essential to represent Malaysia and we never shy away from that commitment.”
Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the Isla collection?
“We want this collection to embody the Zcova identity, which is why the design appears familiar—it’s our emblem, reinterpreted with the Mother of Pearl and Lapis Lazuli.”
Which piece from the new collection is your favourite, and why?
“We can’t decide, so we like both!”
What’s next for the brand?
“We hope to open more stores with diverse interior designs, similar to our experience centres. We’re also considering launching more exclusive collections, but for now, we’re taking things as they come. Our focus remains on bespoke orders, ensuring each piece is truly one-of-a-kind.”
What do you want people to associate or remember your brand with?
“While our existing customers recognise us for our honesty, integrity and transparency, we strive to expand our reputation. We aspire for more people to think of us as the Malaysian brand that brings them joy—a brand that they can take pride in and rely on for unique pieces.”
