It is officially Moira Rose’s favourite season: awards! The 31st Critics’ Choice Awards (CCAs) kicked off this period of celebration with a night filled with snubs and surprises—from the crowning of frontrunner One Battle After Another in Best Picture to the upsets by the Frankenstein camp. Vying for the coveted prizes, Hollywood elites flocked to Santa Monica Airport’s Barker Hanger, decked in jewellery and watches that gave the star-topped trophy a run for its money.

Amanda Seyfried was one of the Best Actress hopefuls who delivered the goods. Nominated for her performance in The Testament of Ann Lee, Seyfried stunned the red carpet with Tiffany & Co.’s archival pieces, including a necklace in platinum with diamonds and a watch in platinum-iridium with diamonds and crystal. Fellow nominee and eventual winner, Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley, went bigger and bolder with the Boucheron Lavallière Diamants statement earrings.

On the television side, Sarah Snook of All Her Fault stole the spotlight with her Chopard ensemble. The award-winning Australian actress showed up in a necklace in 18K white gold with diamonds, drop earrings with diamonds and emeralds, as well as rings from the brand’s Haute Joaillerie collection. Kaley Cuoco also made a head-turning appearance with the Catene necklace in 18K rose gold with diamonds, as well as the Nudo rings and earrings by Pomellato.

Elegant timepieces dominated among male attendees. Going for the gold one way or another, a number of the nominees that evening opted for the signature pieces from Omega. The Secret Agent’s Wagner Moura, for instance, exuded glamour in a 40mm De Ville Trésor in stainless steel with a diamond-paved bezel and a black leather strap. Brian Tyree Henry of Dope Thief, on the other hand, wore a 42mm Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional in 18K Sedna Gold.

The Wizard of Oz, Jeff Goldblum, also cast a spell on the carpet with his timepiece. The Wicked: For Good actor arrived at the ceremony in a Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate with a 40mm steel case, a white dial, and a black alligator strap. Meanwhile, the star of hit show Nobody Wants This, Adam Brody, emanated sophistication with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso Tribute Monoface ‘Or Deco’. The timepiece features an 18K pink gold case and Milanese link bracelet.
