Glashütte Original’s striking Sixties models take on a fiery orange hue

Inspired by the bold, dynamic decade that it was named after, Glashütte Original’s Sixties collection nods to the provocative visionaries and ideas of the era with its vivid retro-chic aesthetic. Last year saw the first of its annual editions take off in a gorgeous green shade, enarmouring watch and design enthusiasts alike with its stunning dégradé dial.

This year, the bold spirit of the Sixties line carries on in a fiery multi-faceted orange hue on the Sixties and Sixties Panaroma Date. The arresting domed dial features a golden yellow centre that blends into orange and red, before settling into the black perimeter. This beautiful dégradé effect is achieved by careful application of layers and layers of red and black lacquer by hand onto the galvanic bath-treated dial, rendering each dial unique. Lightly curved Arabic numerals don the surface, adding to the retro nuances.

At the heart of the new Sixties and Sixties Panaroma Date are the 39-52 and 39-47 automatic movements respectively—the former in a 39mm stainless steel case, while the latter flaunts a 42mm silhouette. The timepieces are complemented by brown Louisiana alligator leather straps, rounding off the contemporary vintage design harmoniously.
