The revived Cartier Tank Asymétrique is now part of the exclusive Cartier Privé collection

Cartier’s exclusive Cartier Privé collection has just gotten a new addition and it’s none other than the new Tank Asymétrique watch. The Cartier Privé is a selection of the maison’s most exemplary timepieces that include the Crash watch, the Tank Cintrée and the Tonneau watch.

Cartier Tank Asymetrique

The new Tank Asymétrique is a revamped variation of the original Parallélogramme or Losange that was launched in 1936—an innovative timepiece that was unlike any of the traditional watches of that time. The latest Tank Asymétrique is fitted with the Manufacture 1917 MC movement, and has two horizontal shafts connected by two oblique ones, coupled with numerals off-set by 30° to the right. The Arabic numerals and separating indexes have also been redesigned for a current look.

The Tank Asymétrique is available in three options: pink gold with a grey dial and strap, yellow gold with a champagne dial and brown strap, and platinum with a silver-coloured dial, ruby cabochon and grey strap. Note that the made-to-measure straps come with an ardillon buckle, and each colour is only limited to 100 numbered pieces.

If you’re a fan of peeking through the bare bones of a timepiece, you’d like the Cartier Tank Asymétrique skeleton watch. The 9623 MC skeleton movement is the highlight here, appearing in the middle of a bare structure and accented with the “12” and “6” numerals. This exclusively-developed calibre was designed meticulously to fit within an asymmetric watch—a fine reason why the Tank Asymétrique is the latest addition to the Cartier Privé collection.

The Tank Asymétrique skeleton watch is available in pink gold on a brown/grey strap, in platinum on a blue/back strap, and in a gem-set platinum version with a black/glossy blue strap. All watches are made-to-measure and limited to 100 numbered pieces per aesthetic as well.
