Bulgari Diva: Celebrating feminine sensuality
This year’s Bulgari Diva jewellery collection has been reinterpreted in precious, multi-coloured gemstones, a perfect fit for the multi-faceted woman

A diva — the woman who knows who she is and what she wants. She calls the shots, sets the trend and does things her way. In today's culture of being Insta-famous, it's no easy feat being known as a diva — Naomi Campbell, Mariah Carey and Beyoncé (whose interpretation of 'diva' is the female version of a hustler) immediately come to mind. These are women who embody strength, beauty and intelligence; women with a timeless sense of style.

Personified by Carla Bruni in their ad campaign, Bulgari's Diva jewellery collection features a curved, fan-shaped motif that celebrates the sensuality of a woman. Inspired by Rome, the Eternal City, the curves are taken from the arched patterns seen at the Roman Baths of Caracalla, built in 216 AD. Home to Bulgari, the city of Rome plays a constant source of inspiration to the jeweller, its heritage reinterpreted for the modern woman.

This year, the Diva collection has been given a colourful makeover, rendered in precious gemstones like turquoise, lapis lazuli and carnelian. Believed to bring the wearer luck and fortune, the Diva pendants and bracelets make for chic, everyday talismans.

For dressier evenings, consider the versatile sautoir that can either be worn as it is, wrapped around the neck twice or around the wrist as a bracelet. Alternatively, if it's dress with a low back you opt for, consider draping the vintage-style necklace down the back for a look that hints at seduction.

When the occasion calls for extravagance and full-blown glamour, the Diva fan-shaped motifs morph into voluptuous, petal-like shapes, creating a floral motif - a symbol of feminine elegance. Gleaming in pink or white gold with a generous dusting of diamonds, the jewellery pieces make a bold statement that's the very signature of Bulgari.
