Celebrities didn’t forget to turn it up a notch with the shiniest bling they could get their hands (and ears and wrists) on, ascending the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art dripping in jewels worthy of royalty. Diamonds were a favourite of the night: Liu Wen rocked up in a dazzling diamond earrings and a necklace from Chanel Haute Joaillerie, while Serena Williams ensured all eyes were on her impressive Audemars Piguet Diamond Outrage watch—it was likely the evening’s scene-stealer with a combination of 9,923 brilliant-cut diamonds and 354 baguette-cut diamonds. Elsewhere, gold and rose gold had a field day as well, with Diane Kruger, Claire Danes, Jessica Chastain and Blake Lively all repping exquisite creations to complement their gowns.
