The Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver is made for venturing into the deep blue

Did you know? Bell & Ross’ first diver’s watch released in 1997, the Hydromax, holds the world record for water resistance—clocking in a resistance of up to 11,100 meters. This is made possible by a groundbreaking technological innovation where the case is fitted with a patented transparent oil. Clearly, the Swiss watchmaker takes its promise to craft professional instruments that withstand the extreme seriously.

Bell & Ross has since followed this feat with several more diving instruments, but it was only last year that the brand unveiled its first diver’s watch fitted with it’s emblemetic square case—the BR 03-92 Diver in steel.

A successful matrimony of the brand’s technical expertise and the BR line’s iconic aesthetic, it seemed only natural to expand the watch into a collection. To mark this momentous occasion, Bell & Ross whisked us to Langkawi to witness the launch of two new covetable versions of the dive watch: the BR 03-92 Diver Blue and the BR 03-92 Diver Bronze.

Time is of essence when one is underwater. Langkawi-based marine ecologist, Dr Gerry Gooden, affirmed it as he spoke about the importance of reliable equipment in underwater work at the recent launch: “There is nothing more terrifying than being underwater and not knowing how long you’ve been down for, thus a time measuring tool is absolutely essential for work underwater.”

This is where the BR 03-92 Diver comes in. A professional diving instrument that is water resistant to 300 meters, it is driven by a self-winding mechanical movement, with a 60-minute calibrated unidirectional rotating bezel that allows for immediate calculation of time spent underwater. The indices and hands are, of course, coated with SuperLuminova to ensure visibility underwater.

Learn a little bit more about the two new versions and inspirations here:

BR03-92 DIVER BLUE

With a beautiful deep blue dial and matching bezel, the BR 03-92 Diver Blue proudly wears the colour of the sea. Flaunting a sportier aesthetic compared to the bronze version, with a contrasting yellow hour hand, it comes with a blue rubber strap (super practical) that is interchangeable with an ultra-resilient black synthetic fabric one.

BR 03-92 DIVER BRONZE

The BR 03-92 Diver Bronze pays tribute to the history of underwater exploration with a case and bezel made of bronze—a material that is used for diving helmets in the past. This homage can also be seen on the case-back, which bears the engraving of a diver.

You’ll find that the bronze will form a patina over time depending on its environment, making it quite unique to the wearer. Its vintage aesthetic is nicely fitted with an aged leather strap, which can be swapped for a rubber strap for your diving adventures. This model is limited to just 999 pieces.
